Rhinestone cowboys have given way to Yellowstone-style techies playing herdless cattleman. And this is the pointed backbone to Ty Walker and the Humanoids’ aptly titled single “All Hat, No Cattle”.
Hitting cosmically between The Modern Lovers and something Jello Biafra would jam, this far-out (intended) song is a wild ride set to a jangly groove. The lyrics are poetry from the earthly soil of Montana and dipping into the 70s John Cale universe. Galactic country-crusader Walker sings, “Just closed the deal, man/ Big dude ranch at the edge of town/ Fat chance that he’ll be riding a steed/ (But he’s got that) X factor, EV Tractor/ 1,000 acres and a flock of electric sheep…”. Posers are posing and it’s upsetting the natural course of the land and its longtime inhabitance. Or so the song goes…
“All Hat, No Cattle” (replete with alien interference) is taken from the forthcoming ‘Home on the Strange” LP and you can stream the single here at the GTC. Giddy Up.

“Far out in the void, beyond everything we humans know and love, there lies The Moosh: a luminous deity who controls the nine universes within the multiverse, each one stretching from its sparkling center like a wide-reaching tentacle of a squid. One such tentacle, the sixth to be exact, has begun to decay. It is in this atrophied limb that we find our planet, a speck of life within a declining universe plagued by ‘fractured frequencies’ and want for a sonic remedy called the ‘galactic twang’. Herein lies the origin of Ty Walker and The Humanoids, a band that has made it its mission to save us all, and they’re going to do it with a little thing called country music.” – press sheet (PD PR)
