THE DIRTY DEAD – “Ghosts of Guinevere”

by Maria Savva

“Ghosts of Guinevere” is a track taken from The Dirty Dead’s excellent 2016 album, “Nightingale”. I interviewed Dan Parkinson (vocals/guitar) last year, just before the album was released. You can read the interview HERE to find out more about the band and their music. Since that interview, they have added another band member, Elliott.

WICKED TONGUES – “Feral Gods”

by Maria Haskins

A few years ago, I reviewed Wicked Tongues fantastic EP ‘Jackals‘, and now the band is back with a full-length album titled ‘Color of Attack’. The first single and video off that album is “Feral Gods”.

‘Color of Attack’ is set for release this summer, but I’ve been lucky enough to listen to the album already, and it is a smashingly excellent release. While ‘Jackals’ was good, this is definitely a new level of awesome for the band. “Feral Gods” is one of my favorite tracks from the new album, and a great example of the passion and power of this band.

Wicked Tongues is based in California, and the members are Michael Conway on guitar,  Mason Betsch on vocals, Ryan Shaw on bass, and Elias Berlinger on drums.

OLD JAMES – “Words As Weapons (live)”

by Maria Haskins

Canadian rockers Old James have just released this awesome live video for their new track ‘Words As Weapons’, taken from the band’s upcoming album ‘Speak Volumes’.

I saw Old James open for Crucified Barbara here in Vancouver a couple of years ago, and I’ve been a fan ever since: these guys really blew me away on stage. They’ve got a great sound and fantastic vibe happening, so I am really looking forward to ‘Speak Volumes’.

Old James is based in Toronto, Canada and the members are:

  • Brian Stephenson (Lead Vocals/Bass Guitar)
  • Andy Thompson (Lead Guitar)
  • Chris Stephenson (Drums/Backing Vocals)
