The OLD 97’S
The Old 97‘S are on tour and you should save up your coins and go see one of the seminal Texas bands. Their blend of rock, pop, country and rockabilly isn’t to be missed.
Nine never disappointing albums in almost twenty years is some sort of miraculous achievement very few bands ever accomplish.
Countless college students around this globe of ours have been in taverns drunk and horribly belting out classics from their landmark recording ‘To Far To Care’ for years. Which was recently re-released for the 15th year anniversary with added goodies for the die hard fans. A must get!
I have worn out more cassette and CD copies of ‘To Far To Care’ to rival my nonstop playing of albums by the likes of The Cult, Beastie Boys , Janis Joplin, Doobie Brother, The Smiths, Hank Williams, Police, Willie Nelson and KISS.
My point is this, if you haven’t discovered the toe tapping, honk tonk rockin’, open highway music of The Old 97’s it’s about time.
Try to catch Rhett Miller and the boys on tour. You’ll be hooked, for life.
