What can I say about South Carolina’s husband and wife duo Shovels & Rope? What about, these two are the absolute real deal y’all! Before Michael Trent and Cary Ann Hearst became this ‘to the roots’ musical force they had been kicking it around the music scene not knowing what coolness they could be making together. Good thing they figured it out. 

I’m sure Jack White thinks they’re stealing form his two piece band idea although there have been awesome duos before White Stripes (est 1997). What about Local H (est 1990), Tears For Fears (est 1981), Daft Punk (est 1993), Pet Shop Boys (est 1981).and Tenacious D (est 1994) I won’t go into the lengthy list of country duos. Okay, sorry to go off on Jack White’s silliness of late.
