There’s definitely old school connective tissue someplace btw New York Dolls’ “Personality Crisis” and T.S.O.L.’s “Change Today” in Italy’s The Roozalepres’s recent single, “Alien Television Show”. A bombastic punk rock track delivering a scathing look at the media and how it’s trying its damndest to zombieatize us all. A man-made creation creating an involuntary co-addiction that is becoming far to hard to shake…
The accompanying video, brilliantly animated by Wötsu, is a bastardized freakshow version of The Simpsons sitting on the couch, in front of their boob-tube, visually intoxicated, watching old sci-fi (i.e. Scanners), etc becoming more and more entrenched in its ritualistic propaganda.
The track comes from the band’s forthcoming, self-titled album, expected 13 March via Go Down Records.
