Moa Holmsten: Video “Incident on 57th Street”
by Walter Price
Borrowed from Bruce Springsteen’s 1973 gem The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle, Moa Holmsten releases a video for “Incident on 57th Street”, her 5th visual from her brillant 2015 tribute to The Boss, Bruised Arms And Broken Rhythm.
The original version is often cited as one of Springsteen’s first fully developed tracks, a masterpiece in songwriting and has been a fan favorite for decades. Holmsten has reworked the track into a stripped down raw wail of urgency, driving the story-line into new territories. Creating a staunch first person narrative. Then, when you thought you had it figured out, she goes full Springsteen in a blast of Holmsten swagger that rocks it out.
The new from the streets of NYC video is a DIY affair and you can check out below. And then I highly recommend you check out the full album Bruised Arms And Broken Rhythm.
