Barroom rock-n-soul from Phnom Penh, Cambodia? Yes, indeed. Japan Guitar Shop is the band and their forthcoming LP, “Done You Right”, is a raw powderkeg of a good time.
Officially releasing on 29 Febuary, 2024 and available now on Bandcamp, highlights on the 9-track set are heavy soul-influenced numbers, “Left of Eden”, “The River”, hip hop flavored “Boatcaps & Obituaries” as well as rocker “Promised Land” and the bluesy “Miss Gibbons”. All in all, a great debut LP through and through. And I bet these tunes sound even better live with drinks flowing, the dancefloor throbbing, and cigarette smoke lingering in the air…
