Longtime fans of Dead Can Dance, Book of Love, and This Mortal Coil will find the recent single, “Tom”, by multifaceted multi-instrumentalist I AM SNOW ANGEL fitting nicely in their atmosphere. IASA’s Julie Kathryn recalls the track’s backstory, “Tom’ recounts a series of memories, like a repetitive dream on loop. I wanted to evoke a feeling of conflicted reflection…the casual, melancholic ways that we relive our past relationships over and over in our minds.”

Sincere and fragile, “Tom” is an apparitional pop song only made more surreal by its music video. Crafted by Danaë Tjionas and Ariel Sanchez, watch whispery figures explore the spaces between touch and fascination. The film’s slowburn interpretive dance images more than substantiate this song’s soft beauty. A truly brilliant result.

Between the poetic lyrics, meticulous production, and beautiful visuals, this song is existing in spaces all it’s own. “Tom” is from the forthcoming album, “Lost World”, expected on May 6, 2022. And you can stream the dreampop triumph and get lost in the shadowy magic of its film, now at the GTC.
