Boston area noise rockers DYR FASER may have just come into their own with their latest and arguably their most accomplished release. It’s a 12-track LP called DYR FASER Impressions and their signature psych and post-punk concoctions are intact but this time around they’ve sharpened, if you will, almost every aspect of their vibe, vocals, arrangements, and production.
I imagine some form of the Minority Report screens where Eric Boomhower and Amelia May are pulling and arranging inspirations from the likes of Hüsker Dü, Jefferson Airplane, The 13th Floor Elevators, Pixies, The Doors, and many more to create their burgeoning nonconformist yet palpable rocknroll.
If college and alt-rock radio were still as potent as it once was, tracks like the May-driven psych-out “Parade”; the Lou Reed vibed “Reductive Silence”; the noisy lullaby “Best of Time”, and the closer, “Demonized” would all have the request lines blazing and kids melting into their dorm room floors.
Experience it all for yourself, you can stream the beautifully weird worlds of DYR FASER Impressions, here at the GTC.
