Real-life husband and wife duo Carolina Story (Emily & Ben Roberts) are brand new to my ears. I recently caught the chat they had with Chris Shiflett on his Walking The Floor podcast. Initially drawn to their earnest conversation, I quickly found their single “Lay Your Head Down”, the title track from their 2018 album. A beautiful harmony filled roots track that reminds me of the AM radio fare I grew up on. Plenty of whiskey and tears, just like home…

Carolina Story have been around for a minute. Riding the ups and downs the music business can toss any musician’s way Now, with a handful of Grand Ole Opry appearances under their belt and a great album full of tactile (old and newer) tracks…things seem to be on the upswing. Turning doubts into perseverance.
