Metallicaliebers!

By Walter Price

Do you remember when Metallica were destroying your senses with their earth-shaking and mind numbing albums Kill ‘Em All (’83), Ride the Lightening (’84), Master of Puppets (’86), …And Justice for All ‘(88) and 1991’s Metallica?

Even their 1996 Load is a fine listen.

Well, things seem to be going differently for the metalers these days. Experiential albums, rockumentries and goofy things being said in the press.

Just like what I found when I went about reading the music rags this morning. The band had some interesting things to say to KERRANG! that made me a bit itchy from the inside out.

“Is it possible to have respect for him without being a Belieber? I think the kid’s really talented and obviously to go through what he’s going through at that early age must be a mindfuck. So the fact that he still goes out there and does it, I admire that and I think he’s super talented, so I guess I am kind of a Belieber. If he likes ‘One’, and Liam Gallagher likes him, OK, there you go.” – Lars Ulrich (kerrang.com)

Well, okay. Thanks for filling us in, you righteous man of metal. I agree the young dude is having a tough go in the public eye but is he bringing it on himself or is everybody just picking on a truly innocent musical genius…What the hell.

There are more interesting quotes from the band in the article, check them out here.
