…we will survive, KITTY SOLARIS Dark Night
by Walter Price
After spending the past couple of years or so digging deep into darkwave and subversive pop experimentation (of sorts), Berlin-based, multifaceted creator Kitty Solaris returns with arguably her most approachable offering in some time with her new single, “Dark Night”.
Worry not longtime fans, there are still plenty of the shadowy late-night vibes lurking beneath the skin of this post-punk/indie-pop track. A post-pandemic lament replete with a catchy shuffle beat and Solaris’ signature lean and pointed lyrics. Not to mention the stark black and white music video visuals reminiscent of the late 1960s Bowery scene. Pure Solaris throughout.
Kitty Solaris rarely disappoints and “Dark Night” is all the proof you need that her artistic output knows no bounds. Stream it now as well as see the Pleiadesounds-created video, here at the GTC.

“Kitty Solaris is a well-known berlin singer/songwriter following the footsteps of her all-time favorites Velvet Underground, Patty Smith, and Catpower. In her kitchen in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg, she developed her very unique style, playing meditative, mellow, and melancholic songs on her electric guitar accompanied by her tender voice. Always straight to the point with headlines and catchy hook lines.” – bio
