THE VIDOS – Criminals

by Maria Haskins

The Vidos keep blowing me away with their music: funky rock’n’roll, catchy as hell, and with a cheeky sense of humour. “Criminals” is the band’s latest video-offering, and it’s a real treat.

“Criminals” is streaming right now!  Spotify / SoundCloud

LAVENDER SKIES -More To Life

by Maria Savva

London band, Lavender Skies, have a brilliant demo EP on Soundcloud. Titled “It’s Only A Demo”, it features 6 tracks.

As soon as I played the first song “More To Life”, I was hooked. They have a great indie rock sound, with contagious melodies and thought-provoking lyrics. Take a listen below.

SLAVES – Cut and Run

by Neil Schiller

I can’t believe it has been three years already since Slaves released the seminal ‘Cheer Up London’. That was probably my favourite song of 2015. We had a tradition of singing it to each other in the car if anyone was having a moment. It defused the situation every time.

‘Cut and Run’ is more in the style of my favourite song by these guys, 2014’s ‘Where’s Your Car Debbie?’ How can you not like a band who don’t take themselves too seriously, who bang out music that’s deceptively simple but catchy as hell, and feature a singer who plays the drums standing up? I was also reading that they stopped a gig to make sure there was no sexual harassment happening in the crowd when they spotted some female fans being shoved around down the front. Yes, more of that please, from everyone.

I’m hoping this is from an upcoming album. It’s great. Keep them coming lads.
