Award-winning blues/folk artist Danielle Miraglia’s recent single “The Ones Who Made Him” is a lyrically pointed one.
I would hate to assume who this Boston songwriter is talking about, but it is certainly about building complicated egos in this modern outrage culture. Miraglia warns, “While you compose your eloquent attach/ He’s building his billboard on your back/ Every word id fodder to his fandom/ You meant to mock them, but you wrote them an anthem.”.
With her signature smokey vocals and a timeless bluesy rhythm, “The Ones Who Made Him” is poignant social commentary in these complicated times. Hence, perhaps we shouldn’t jump in on all the boiling social media commentary destroying the fabric of our souls— it’s creating monsters.
