Ben Folds Nick Hornby Lonely Avenue

lonely avenue Symbolism’s all crap….
by Walter Price   I’ve wanted to review this album for 3 years now and I have written seven drafts. Seven drafts that didn’t make sense or made too much sense and meandered endlessly into seemingly every corner of this album I found myself lingering in. Here is where I’ve kind of rested: Ben Folds & Nick Hornby’s Lonely Avenue (2010 Nonesuch) is uniquely one of the most beautifully complicated, serious, tongue in cheek, disturbing, romantic desirable and picturesque albums I’ve ever had rolling around the edges of my bewildered psyche and I understand I could never properly do this album any justice in any sort of review.
