REWIND: AND THE WIREMEN Parade
And The Wiremen Parade is available on Apple Music, Bandcamp

Going back to the heyday of the global discombobulation, Brooklyn-Berlin-based outfit And The Wiremen (Lynn Wright-led) released a previously recorded and seemingly overlooked noir gem, “Parade”.
“Recorded with the usual bit players and walk-on stars in New York and Berlin sometime(s) between 2016-2018” (Facebook), this one is better to listen and gain your own perspective, but for the sake of words, imagine Wright, Mark Sandman, Leonard Cohen, and Nick Cave were in a post-midnight diner conjuring up shadowy scenes. This is the vibe I get here. While Wright’s smooth vocals on this release may conjure up jazz-pop, the content will certainly find the listener going deep into cerebral post-punk poetical.
It is fascinating that this level of artistry can slip-slide past most of us. You can hear what I’m discovering of late by streaming And The Wiremen’s “Parade” here at the GTC.

“Between 2010 and early 2016 And The Wiremen recording an eponymous album, the EP Send Me Low, and a single Caged Bird with a multi-generational, genre-crossing gaggle of musicians. When so inclined and their usual musical duties allowed, they would do short tours of the US and Europe, and then disappear from whence they came.” – bio
