London-based husband and wife duo When Rivers Meet [Grace and Aron Bond], who are already known for their Delta laced alt-folk filled with undeniably addictive harmonies, have used their powers to cover The Civil Wars’ seminal “Barton Hollow”. Released on YouTube last year, this homage is a stark beauty that reminds us that production is fine, but sometimes, simply paid respect is all the love.
“When we were writing the song, we wanted a picturesque name for the place and it was the first thing that popped in my head and Joy liked the way it sounded and it became the name of the song. It made me really proud to pay a homage to where I’m from too.” – John Paul White
During these times of pandemic and deafening unrest, When Rivers Meet have been keeping fans entertained with must witness weekly Saturday live streams and have also released a brilliant recent single, “A Dead Man Doesn’t Lie“. And if you’re a fan of The White Stripes, Cobra Ramone and/or soul-stirring authenticity, then this duo is here to rock you.
