REWIND: LINDSAY WHITE No Room at the Inn

San Diego singer/songwriter Lindsay White is no stranger to writing poignant and socially conscious songs and her January 2024 track “No Room at the Inn” is as beautifully present as they come.
White’s signature natural vocals and soft guitar are intact as she laments the fate of the children affected by the turmoil in and around the West Bank. Evergreen strife that White poetically if not heartbreakingly sings, “This winter is too damn cold/ all I see for miles around/ is blankets of snowy white/ and no sign of silent nights/ I just hear the sound of bombs and teardrops falling down/ not too far from Bethlehem/ and I’m thinking about that manger/ wondering how 2,000 years later/ there’s no room at the inn/ no room at the inn…”.
Stunningly powerful, this folk song bleeds empathy and White’s naturalistic delivery tells a tale worth starting a conversation or perhaps finding a way to lend a hand. Little hearts are caught up in grown-up’s confusing problems. Tear inducing.
If you’re looking to feel something for a problematic situation, grab a tissue and stream “No Room at The Inn” here at the GTC.
