In the 80’s, the 198ß’s, there was this interesting synth movement or New Wave as you must, that wasn’t of the cheesy variety you found in fun but odd acts like Flock of Seagulls and Fun Boy Three. There was a whole different segment using the scraps of disco the 70’s discarded and stripped it down in most cases and created something more textural and interesting to dig into.
The acts like The Human League and Yaz,did a lot of goof back in the day to intrigue the listener and there seems to be a new New Wave or disco-pop attraction building across Europe (always has been really) and out of London their is Real Experts (Andrew Maley and company) who have a terrific new single “Laser Me To Heaven” featuring the ultra talent Strobegirl. After putting it in your ears their absolutely no way to tell if it modern or classic and this is the track’s perfection. A classy dance number with an addictive personality. Real Experts could be the modern infectious synth-pop collaborative we’ve all been waiting for, I’d bank on it.
