Holiday Sidewinder – Kokomo is available @ Apple Music.
by Walter Price
Who’s living their best life? Outwardly looking in, it would be nomadic indie-pop star Holiday Sidewinder. For example, as your summer was coming to an end, getting your kids back to school, and you robotically march in and out of your mundane 9-to-5, Sidewinder has been delaying her end-of-summer, globetrotting. Tangled up in a Berlin conga line, mesmerizing crowds in London, being glamorous in Estonia, missing connecting flights with a smile, and she just dropped a cover of the Beach Boys ’89 endless summer hit, “Kokomo”.
Sidewinder’s take is a sun-drenched top-down drive down a rocky cliff strewn coastline, scarf blowing in the wind. Like a scene from a ’60s Fench film where the destination is only a minor subplot. So, push your squeaky wheeled chair back from your cubical desk, close your eyes and let this track take you to Aruba, Jamaica, Bermuda, Bahama, or wherever you want to go fast just to take it slow…
