VINTAGE CARAVAN – Set Your Sights

by Maria Haskins

It’s been a while since I listened to The Vintage Caravan, but whoa, this track brought me right back in the fold. “Set Your Sights” is a riffy, groovy track with a heavy, smoky, trippy vibe. It’s taken from the band’s new album “Gateways”, set for release on August 31st.

The Vintage Caravan is from Álftanes, Iceland, and the band members are Óskar Logi on guitar and vocals, Alexander Örn on bass and backup vocals, and Stefán Ari on drums and backup vocals.

If you want to catch the band live, you’re in luck. The Vintage Caravan have a string of tour dates this year – check out all the details on their website!

MORALE – Mirrors

by Maria Savva

“Mirrors” is the new single from Morale, a new alt-rock band based in Guildford. If you like grunge and alternative rock, give this track a listen. I was hooked by it and am looking forward to hearing more songs from this trio.

TESS PARKS & ANTON NEWCOMBE – Grunewald

by Neil Schiller

Tess Parks is originally from Toronto, Canada and has been releasing music since around 2013. Here she’s collaborating with Anton Newcombe from The Brian Jonestown Massacre (who’s track ‘Groove is in the Heart’ I featured back in April). It sounds like a match made in heaven to me. This reminds me a lot of Newcombe’s best ever track ‘Anemone’ – slow and dreamy psyche rock, streetwise and ultra cool. Mazzy Star meets Jefferson Airplane.

This is from the EP they did together called ‘Right On’ which came out in May. It’s a precursor to a full album by the pair apparently, but that was due in June and hasn’t yet appeared as far as I know. Keep an eye out for it though, I certainly will be. Lovely stuff this.
